What have I gotten mysElf into???
It's about 4:30pm on Thursday, December 14th. Here is what the last week has looked like:boy worked 12+ hr shifts Thurs-Sun and a day shift on Tues.
I have been corralling judges for the Southwest Leather Art Exhibition.
I have been trying to pin down a co-sponsor and budget for the SWLAE Reception.
I have been working with boy to communicate with artists as they 1) request applications, 2) submit applications, 3) ask questions, & 4)need to resend/correct information.
I have been working with boy to figure out how best to show the artwork to the judges.
I set up a tracking spreadsheet for the artwork & applications & have been showing boy how to use it.
I was approached by my temp-to-hire supervisor to see if I was interested in moving to a different position in the company.
I have been trying to collect information for the SWLAE program insert.
I have been mentally composing the program description for SWLAE.
I realized that some of my e-mails in the past few weeks hadn't been received and was able to resend at least one.
I negotiated with my supervisor & boss to accept the new position.
Our heat got turned on!! (after two weeks of promises)
I checked in with my FOO.
I took boy out to dinner.
I accepted the new position (a promotion w/ better salary and benefits to start Jan 3rd).
I confirmed that at least one e-mail sent TO me this week was not received.
and a bunch of normal daily stuff.
In the next week:boy will work 12+ hr shifts Thurs-Sun, possibly another day shift on Tues, and then more 12+ hr shifts on Wed-Sat.
the deadline for SWLAE submissions is 11:59pm tomorrow -- all submissions will be acknowledged and tracked.
all SWLAE applications will be checked for errors/missing information and corrected asap.
all art submissions will be coded and forwarded to the judges.
I will write & submit the SWLAE description for the main program by tomorrow.
boy & I will faciliate a meeting with the judges to 1) look at the site, 2) select pieces for the Exhibition, and 3) approve program info & letter.
I will notify all artists of the judges decision.
I will collect bio/photo/info from artists & judges for program insert.
I will coordinate with the SWLC Volunteer Advocate for volunteers -- inc. recruiting from accepted artists
I will sign an official offer for the new job.
I will attend MAsT-Phoenix meeting.
I will attend the Adv. Roundtable @ APEX.
I will likely visit extended FOO who will be in AZ over Xmas.
I will finalize the co-sponsors and possibly the budget for the reception.
I will likely have to rent storage space early next week or immediately after Xmas & arrange to move stuff from a friend's apartment into the unit as well as stuff from here.
and other daily stuff.
I'm just glad I'm not Xtian and don't have to worry about gifts, decorating, shopping, visiting, etc. Or I'd really be wondering what I was thinking when committing mysElf (and boy) to all this!
